Bryan Hulbert – LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (July 1, 2020) Chasing an issue on the Life of Hope No. 17w this past weekend with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network, Harli White is gearing up and heading back to I-30 Speedway on Wednesday, July 1 to make sure the car is sorted out.

“It was a rough weekend, so we’re going to back to hopefully get some redemption and make sure we have the car fixed,” stated White.

Back on tour with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network on Thursday night at Caney Valley Speedway, Harli made the A-Feature redraw with a ninth to fourth-place run in her Heat Race.

Sliding back in the A-Feature, Harli described the car as being on ice.

“In the Heat, we still had some grip on the track and the car felt good, but once we got to the feature, it was like I was on ice. The car wouldn’t react and get on the right rear at all like it was bound up.”

Salvaging a 12th place finish, the team went over the car and found an issue with the front of the chassis that was preventing the car from reacting through the corner.

“Once we found what it was, we felt really good in Hot Laps at I-30. I was in a later Heat, so I felt like we could get out of the higher draw until the driver made a mistake and hit a tractor tire, so that put us behind the rest of the night and we ended up having to take a provisional. I was happy we figured the car out and had speed, just disappointed that I made a mistake.”

Ending up 20th, the team has re-worked the car and will return to I-30 Speedway before taking the time to test at Knoxville Raceway this Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4 in 360cid competition.

“We’re going to make sure we are right on the car and I need some redemption after the run we had Saturday,” chuckled Harli.

“I love I-30 Speedway and typically run decent there, and plus it gives us a chance to try a few things without worrying about points or anything like that, then any chance you have to get laps at Knoxville before the Nationals is important so we’re looking forward to getting two nights in there was well.”

The 2020 season marks the 13th year of racing for Harli White. Racing full time with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network, Harli will also mix in several events throughout the country when not on the road.
